POEM: I’m Here

I’m here
I’m there
I’m everywhere
I’m powerful
I’m gentle
I’ll push you along
Fan the flames
To show I’m strong

Across the seas
If you be brave
I’ll lift you up
To crest the wave

Although unseen
I can be heard
Through the trees
I spread the word

A whispered prayer
A cloudless sky
A wish, a dream
I help them fly

Towards the stars
Across the moon
Your wishes granted
All too soon

I carry hope
I carry death
I carry on…
With baited breath

I’m nowhere
To the naked eye
Until you see
Clouds floating by

Until the waves
crash onto shore
Until what’s left
Is nothing more

Than lines written
across the sand
In every land
on every hand

Still the voices
Lightened heart
forgive yourself
Falling apart

For some it is
The only way
To start afresh
At break of day

We rise as one
From down below
To feel the sun
Its warmth, its glow

With demons fought
And wisdom won
Our stories cannot
Be undone

For those who came before us
To those who’ve yet to stray
We stoke the fire, we fan the flames
We boldly light the way

For even in the darkest night
With shadows everywhere
We stand beside you
Hold you guide you
We are always there
